This article is terrible and in need of a complete rewrite! Factual inaccuracies/grammatical mistakes abound, and it implies through its organization and lack of notes to the contrary that several expressions of the possessive which are almost never heard in actual use are common/preferred. I'll update it if I can find the time... Orinthe 11:55, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In the meanwhile, I'm tagging it as under revision. Orinthe 11:58, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Revised a bit. Someone check besides the guy that wrote it. No offense, guy that wrote it, but these problems are forest from the trees level. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Claytonian (talkcontribs) 18:02, 23 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not really appropriate for a separate article. It is like having an article on the various corresponding verbs like "belong", "possess", etc. in English. --JWB (talk) 20:41, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scope

[edit]

I'm not terribly clear what definition of "possessive" this article is using. I suppose "XのY" is fair enough, but are sentences like ジョンさんが犬を持っている, although obviously describing possession of some sort, actually anything to do with the grammatical concept of "possessives" in the way that is normally understood? 86.181.171.186 (talk) 01:58, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
