English

[edit]

Note: I wrote this in American English since that's what comes naturally to me. If someone cares enough to change it to British English I have no objections, considering the subject matter. Qrsdogg (talk) 17:05, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, found a script that will did it. Qrsdogg (talk) 22:58, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well researched and well written. Thoroughly referenced, neutral, and stable. Passed. Johnfos (talk) 04:21, 1 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Approbation

[edit]

I have corrected a sentence so that it is no longer nonsensical: One cannot simultaneously approve ("approbation") and disapprove ("reproach") of something. However, while it is now sensible, it might actually be wrong: perhaps they originally approved of the relationship. If someone more familiar with the subject matter would please take a look, I'd appreciate it. The sentence as it now stands is:

Their relationship initially drew disapprobation from their families, with Jane's brother and Edward's stepmother reproaching them for their decisions.

No, you're right, that was my mistake. I think I meant to write "opprobrium" or something instead of "approbation". Qrsdogg (talk) 01:06, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
