possibly living

I thought the standard was that "possibly living people" applies to people past 90 who nothing has been heard of for some time. PatGallacher (talk) 21:13, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's a reference in 2002 that lists her alive at the bottom of the page (not all sources are online, by the way). Wikipedia has no deadline, so there's no rush to list her as not being alive, particularly given WP:BLP concerns. For the list of centenarians, we decided that two months without a notice of turning 100 was required before switching to PLP on someone who has been noted as alive past 90. And even still, we've made mistakes, such as listing Muhammad Aslam Khan Khattak under PLP because there was no evidence of him turning 100 until he died. It looks to me that all this proves is that she was mentioned in a work published in 2002. If this work explicitly states that she was alive at that time then an appropriate citation should be placed in the article. I recognise that we should be cautious about moving people to "possibly living people" if there are relatively recent refs., I have tended to treat 20 years ago as the cut-off point. First Name
