@Mansheimer: You tagged the article for conflict of interest and notability. The {{COI}} tag attaches the message A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject. to the article. I created the article and have 95% authorship (ie: I'm the only major contributor) but I assure you that I have no connection to the subject.
For notability, WP:NACTOR presumes notability for actors and comedians who have significant roles in multiple notable films, television shows, stage performances or other productions. The subject's TV and film roles appear fairly minor (guest roles and some recurring) but she has starred in a number of plays which I believe are notable (though they don't have their own articles at this time).
It comes across as promotional and self-serving, and there has been a slew of these type of articles for very minor players lately, that do not appear to be organic. Reading this, it doesn't come across as an organic article, but as something perhaps written for pay or by someone connected to the subject. This does not at all read like a neutral encyclopedia article. As for notability, this person clearly does not meet the notability requirements, especially judging by the sources. Again, there has been a slew of these articles lately for absolutely minor and nonsignificant players. Mansheimer (talk) 07:44, 14 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Mansheimer: The article is written rather dryly and isn't much more than a list of works in prose form, but that does not make it promotional. If you suggest this was copied from imdb or linkedin, it wasn't, it was assembled from information found in sources.
I believe that the sources used do demonstrate notability, though I can understand some seeing it as a borderline case. However, the criteria is whether such sources exist and not whether the article uses them. (There's a fairly good summary at Wikipedia:The GNG and notability for actors.) The subject has a three-decade career during which she starred in some notable plays (WP:ENT) and won a national award with multiple additional nominations (WP:ANYBIO). I feel that it meets the requirements.
Is there anything else you'd like to add (eg: specific notability policies) before I ask for a third opinion? (Assuming that I have not convinced you to untag the article?) – Reidgreg (talk) 07:05, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
If someone slaps a controversial tag on an article and declines to defend it with arguments grounded in policy, then the tag can be removed. In this case, the article was created by a fairly "veteran" editor, and the article hasn't had significant contributions except for Reidgreg's, so we can safely assume that the COI tag is inappropriate. As for notability, Mansheimer hasn't provided any actual arguments, when all that really matters is WP:NACTOR and WP:GNG. ~Anachronist (talk) 03:36, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
