There is still plenty to do with this article, which ought to be reconstructed more in line with house style. Charles Matthews (talk) 21:11, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If we declare two o possible birth years

[edit]

if we declare two possible birth years in the text we should use the decade birth cat.John Pack Lambert (talk) 02:47, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

"27 February 1646/1647" is not two possible birth years. At that time in history some countries started the new year on January 1st and others on March 25th. That means on the same day, it was 27 February 1647 in France, but 27 February 1646 in England, for example. It's explained in the article I linked at Dual dating#England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland and the American coloniesSchreiberBike | ⌨  03:21, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I've re-read that link and either it is explained pretty badly there or perhaps I don't understand. I mostly remember it from reading about things in that period of history. Perhaps we should get another view of this. SchreiberBike | ⌨  00:42, 15 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
