IQ

The widely reported IQ of 180 isn't very useful without knowing which scale it's on. Tests are usually either 15 or 16 points per standard deviation, but sometimes 24 points. Sharon Stone & Jimmy Woods might have tested 180 on a 24 point/sigma test, which converts to a very respectable 150 or so on Stanford-Binet or Wechsler. A score of 180 on either of those two scales are very rare. Anyone have any source for which scale Woods tested on?

The article suggests that it is on the Stanford-Binet test that he got 180, but that is so many standard deviations above normal that I think a citation is needed for this claim. --SVTCobra 22:22, 18 July 2006 (UTC)

Why was he tested and at what age? I really stubbed my eye on this one and agree that it needs a citation and some sort of context. Also, I was reading the article about Mr. Woods' appearance on the Tonight Show 9/11/2006 while watching that very show. It made me wonder how it got into the article before the show was aired. Although Snopes also believes Woods' story [1], in the New Yorker article on the matter [2] (paragraph 11) an FBI agent stated that they can't connect any of the known hijackers with any of Woods' flights: "We don't know for sure."

If that is the case it is interesting that Woods was not asked to review video of the passengers boarding the flight in question. (I hope that is not too stupid an observation.) -Wfaxon 00:23, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

The Snopes' three sources seem pretty weak alongside The New Yorker. Every article recounts the story in identical words, a real cut-and-paste. It makes me wonder how big a role Woods' publicity agent played. These are the Snopes citations,

If he filed a report wouldn't it be possible for either him or the media to get a copy of the report under a FOIA request? The citations here are merely heresay and using a show that bases itself in conspiracy theory isn't going to be your best example of a citation.Woods01 (talk) 08:42, 22 December 2010 (UTC)

Family Tree

Short Factor

I didn't see anything in this article about his family history, children, or siblings (except where it refers to his mother not interested in his actor career and his brother dying in 2006). A family tree, or something about his children would be useful. In fact, it's almost confirmed that I'm his grandson (his son was Jesse Woods, who changed his last name to Lange, who married Tamara Lange, and Tamara Lange is my mother) but I don't know how many people know that. I was even able to visit Jesse recently.

James Woods in Family Guy

I kind of added a section that references James Woods in popular culture, though it's really just Family Guy due to the prominence of his name's appearence in the school's name. I also added a summary of his little fictional biography in the show. Immblueversion (talk) 22:30, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Simpsons Reference

James woods takes the role of the Quickie Mart employee when Apu gets caught serving "rancid" meat (99% certain it was mentioned that way). Theres also a lengthy singing portion consisting of Apu and the Simpsons Gang when Apu moves in. It was because of some vandalism to amoeba - see this edit history, as well as this edit to amoebic. There were a few articles that linked to the bogus redirect, which would have caused major confusion. Thanks for pointing it out - the "amoebic" redirect has been fixed. Undue weight/career section problems

I'm concerned about the imbalance between the "Career" section, which only comprises about 4kb of content, vs. The Family Guy section, which compromises about 1 kb of content. Basically, this amounts to 20% of any content about his career focused on The Family, which gives it too much undue weight in comparison of the content that made him of interest to the cartoon. The career section needs to be expanded to cover in more depth his actual career, or the Family Guy portion needs to be reduced or removed. Come on, people. un-cited references and rumors

Go for it. If someone wants them back they can find sources. Just make sure you leave a good edit summary or refer to the talk section to avoid reversion or getting blocked for mass deletions. I saw an IP get blocked for something similar this week. --Weetoddid (talk) 05:55, 13 June 2009 (UTC)

Family Guy
