[edit]I've replaced "look-alike double agent" with just "double", as "double agent" has a very different meaning from "double" in this context and "look-alike double" is redundant.--Rlhatton 17:03, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
- For the Record Civil War Times Illustrated magazine had a article [Vol 16 article pp.47-49] on James Ward Boyd 1822-1866 on the real James W. Boyd and proved Boyd was killed in Tennessee after the Civil War in 1866.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 134.53.145.121 (talk • contribs) 20:35, 6 December 2006 (UTC)

Year of death is not 1903
[edit]According to the biographical references linked to the article, Captain Boyd was last seen alive in 1865. I am not aware of any reference that puts his death in 1903. Unless someone can offer a reference otherwise, I would request that his year of death be listed as "1865?", which is when he was last seen alive. Wefihe (talk) 16:15, 15 April 2011 (UTC)
He was killed in 1866. See <http://books.google.com/books?id=5XbXsdrLwn8C&pg=PA88&dq=James+Ward+Boyd&hl=en&sa=X&ei=EjJrUaXSG4-j4AOssIC4Cw&ved=0CDEQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=James%20Ward%20Boyd&f=false .pp.88-89> — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.83.72.154 (talk) 22:50, 14 April 2013 (UTC)

This was my ancestor.
[edit]He looks so much like my dad... The resemblance is honestly uncanny.I had no idea that he may have been killed because they thought he was Booth but I do remember a much older Boyd relative talking about how he had come up missing and never returned, though. 199.15.127.222 (talk) 16:01, 20 November 2023 (UTC)
