Question about 'a plot summary from the web'
[edit]At User_talk:Koala15#Good_Work it says: [paraphrasing, in regard to the URL]
Good work on (a 'hidden' URL pointing to: here). In particular, thanks for not copy and pasting a plot summary from the web. That happens sooo often. --Lucas559 (talk) 23:00, 6 October 2015 (UTC)
I have a question. (Tags: Lucas559 and Koala15). What about quoting a "plot summary from the web", together with a proper footnote, pointing to [the URL of] the original source? Would that be OK?
If not, then what is the nature of the reason for the objection to that? --Mike Schwartz (talk) 17:48, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
- Editors should write their own original summary. I welcome changes . Eschoryii (talk) 15:10, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
Possible TYPO (if not, then ... who is "Alice"?)
[edit]Ever since the "Plot" section was added (in 2 edits about 24 hours apart -- about April 8 and 9, 2019) there has been a sentence in the "Plot" section that says
Alice knows what year it is and who the president is so she can go home.
The first word of that sentence could maybe (possibly) be correct, if there were some character in this movie with the name "Alice". There might be; but I don't think so, because ... even if there is an "Alice", [in this movie] ... still, the name "Alice" is not mentioned anywhere else in the entire "Plot" section of this article! The name "Alice" appears only once in this entire article. (It is the first word of the above "blockquoted" sentence.)
This might be due to ...just a TYPO. Maybe instead of "Alice", the name mentioned in that sentence should be "Gail"?
- (OR ... if the mother of James is named "Alice", then [maybe] the sentence that gives her name as "Gail" [QUOTE: "Gail White his mom reminds him that she needs him."] should be changed? Nope ... I don't think so, because ... the name "Gail" appears three times in this article.)
Any advice? or comments? --Mike Schwartz (talk) 21:10, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
- You are correct. Mom is named Gail and not Alice. I fixed it but you could have made the edit yourself but thanks for finding the inconsistency. I think I am supposed to ping you but I do not know how. Eschoryii (talk) 04:21, 28 May 2020 (UTC)
