I definitely want to claim this one. I'll get you my feedback ASAP, although it may be later tomorrow until I'm finished. Cdtew (talk) 04:21, 15 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delay; this article is top-notch, and covers yet another fascinating character from Federal-era Mass. Here are my comments:

Prose

[edit]
  • I've made some edits, which I've tried to keep discrete; feel free to revert.
  • "and his mother was a child on board the ship he came over on whom he later wooed and wed" - This clause reads a little awkwardly; the profusion of pronouns is a contributing factor Rephrased Magic♪piano 22:08, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • "in 1773 Sullivan was offered a portion within the tract" - You may want to clarify what the "tract" was you're talking about Rephrased Magic♪piano 22:08, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • "Although his politics was Democratic-Republican" - This could probably be worded more forthrightly; "his politics was" raises eyebrows; maybe "Although Sullivan leaned toward the Democratic-Republicans..."
  • "framed by Republican ideals. His Republicanism was..." - I think "Republican" and "Republicanism" should be lower-cased in this circumstance, as it sounds like you're talking about philosophical republicanism, not partisanship Done Magic♪piano 02:23, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • The "Maine–New Brunswick border commission" subsection may need a sentence more background to give the lay reader some more comfort with the subject; as it is now, the background has to be teased out of the context, and even then is vague.
  • "and spent some time as a captive in an Indian village" - not to be PC, but is there any way you could insert a specific tribe, rather than just an "Indian village"? Done Magic♪piano 02:23, 18 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • " In 1808, while Sullivan was governor, a small fortification now known as Fort Sullivan was constructed in Calais, Maine." - you fail to indicate whom it was named after
  • Do you have any 3PS's even speculating that it was named after Sullivan? I mean, the likelihood is high it was, but if there's no 3PS connecting the two, I'd say you should leave this fact out, because otherwise it raises the question I posed. Just my opinion, though. Great job! Just a few minor corrections, and this one's good to go! Cdtew (talk) 06:17, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I also found Sullivan unexpectedly fascinating. A real man of action, despite is lameness. Magic♪piano 22:08, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
