The Library Bureau
[edit]While I have seen it claimed that the Library Bureau **invented** the vertical file, I am not convinced that that is true. It is undoubtedly true that the Library Bureau was an early manufacturer and supplier of filing cabinets, file folders, etc. Also it is true that the Library Bureau ran schools that taught filing. - Whether you, or I, or anyone else is "convinced" of the origination of the filing cabinet is irrelevant. The citations say so. I'm no expert, either, I freely admit, but the citation says so. If a citation from a reliable source can be found which contradicts the current citation, then Wikipedia is clear on what happens: Both citations are made, the claim stays in the article, and a footnote is added which says that there is a dispute about the invention of the filing cabinet. Preferably, the article on "Filing cabinet" (if there is one) should be the final word, and this article shoudl agree with what is in that one (if one exists). - Tim1965 (talk) 00:47, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
