[edit]I'd like to see a photograph and information box on this page for James Luther Adams, similar to those for Rev. Forrest Church on his Wikipedia page. I could probably figure out how to accomplish this, but simply do not have the time. I'd contact either the UUA or the James Luther Adams Foundation for permission to use photos they own. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.93.118.14 (talk) 14:23, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
Anecdotal
[edit]Re:
In the mid-1930s, Adams spent considerable time in Germany, where he befriended several notable religious figures (including Karl Barth and Albert Schweitzer) who were active in clandestine resistance to the rise of Nazism.
I recall Dr. Adams's telling us students that German 'Confessing Church' members at the time referred to him as 'the American cinematic theologian' because he brought an early B&W videocamera to capture live footage of the leaders of the underground Protestant resistance. !!!!
