[edit]I removed a notability tag from the header because it was incorrect. There is consensus in the WP Military History community that flying aces are inherently notable. Historically speaking, a small minority of aces shoot down most enemy aircraft accounted for in aerial combat. Losing control of the air usually means losing the war. Air supremacy was recognized as crucial to modern warfare as early as Bloody April, 1917. Thus, Forman is notable under WP:MILPEOPLE, item 4.Georgejdorner (talk) 22:43, 4 October 2019 (UTC)
- The article would need reliably-sourced prose that says Forman "[p]layed an important role in a significant military event such as a major battle or campaign". WikiProject Military history's notability guideline does not say "Air supremacy was recognized as crucial to modern warfare as early as Bloody April, 1917. Thus, [military pilots are] notable", nor does that guideline say "flying aces are inherently notable."As for your complete removal of my edits, I appreciate that. Please accept my apologies. I shan't interfere with your article further. However, I could not find evidence that The Aerodrome met our requirements of a reliable source; can you provide such? — Fourthords | =Λ= | 02:49, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
- First of all, it's WP's article, not mine.
- Second, I rewrote the article to both expand it and improve its cites, not to delete any other editor(s)' effort. Edit away; it's the Wikipedia way.
- Third, I took the courtesy of writing the above explanation. Not that it's required. I was trying to be a nice guy. I left an edit summary in the article, and that usually suffices for explanation.
- Fourth, if you don't believe air supremacy played an "important role in the significant military event" called World War I, you haven't read much history.
- Fifth, you are about the sixth doubting Thomas concerning The Aerodrome. I am tired of yet again digging out proof for the lazy. Do your own research. Please.Georgejdorner (talk) 04:06, 5 October 2019 (UTC)
