If that misspelling is correct, then perhaps it could be marked as such. Varlaam (talk) 19:01, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Individual novel articles
[edit]It's been suggested that Like A Hole In The Head is not sufficiently notable for its own article. The same might be true of Chase's other novels – should they really be linked as they are here, encouraging editors to create new articles? Skomorokh 09:01, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
Oppose: Chase is an internationally acclaimed thriller novelist and almost all his novels have significant international readership and is sufficiently notable for its own article. I have improved the article (as well as the other Chase novels that have individual articles) a bit. Moreover how can the plot summary and all be merged to the author's career section? -- Arfaz (talk) 14:28, 29 May 2011 (UTC)
- Need specific claims of notability for this specific book, supported by cites to reliable sources. Unless the book was on a major best-seller list, critically reviewed in major literary publications, etc., I supportmerger. DMacks (talk) 14:28, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

The World in My Pocket
[edit]This is a 1959 tale of an armored car heist in Las Vegas. It was filmed in Germany as "An einem Freitag um halb zwölf" 1961 with Rod Steiger. It was made into a Soviet TV mini series "Mirage" (Mirazh) 1983 (There is a 2008 Russian film Mirazh no relation.) Its a good plot, Chase trick ending, and all, but.... the About the Author note for the novel includes: "Although Chase set many of his books in America, he never lived there, instead deriving his knowledge from encyclopaedias, detailed maps, and a slang dictionary." Some Russian reviewers cited the 1983 Soviet TV version as showing a true picture of life in America. The few American reviewers found the Soviet movie rolling in the floor laughable. I think this should be a warning to all aspiring authors: library research can only take you so far: it is no substitute for real life experience. --Naaman Brown (talk) 03:42, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
