Will look to review this over the next few days. Are you available LuK3? AIRcorn (talk) 02:27, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aircorn, I'll be available all week. Thank you! -- LuK3 (Talk) 11:17, 5 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Comments

[edit]
  • Did his parents meet in Italy or the states?
  • I went through multiple sources and couldn't find any mention of where his parents met. It was most likely Italy due to both of them living in Italy in their early lives, but I cannot verify that. -- LuK3 (Talk) 19:36, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Chase, in a 2013 interview with The Guardian, stated Gandolfini stopped and left in the middle of his audition before finishing it in his garage later that night. I feel this needs more information
  • "without Jim Gandolfini, there is no "Sopranos." There is no Tony Soprano." Can we write that without the internal quotes (or use single quote marks)
  • a documentary focused on injured Iraq War veterans and their devotion to America while surveying the physical and emotional costs of war. This sounds a bit like a promo or tag line
  • with positive reviews for Gandolfini's performance This is said a few times. While probably accurate I wonder if we are cherry picking positrive reviews. Are there any performances which were not favourably received?
  • He lived in New York City and owned a lot on the Lake Manitoba Narrows A lot of what?
  • and Gandolfini filed for divorce in March 2002.[79] It was finalized in December 2002 I don't think we need the filed for date when we have the finalized date.
  • While word of his death spread, politicians such as John McCain and Governor of New Jersey Chris Christie took to the internet to respond. Not sure of the relavence of this unless we get to see what the response was - it is also vague, express sympathy I guess, but respond could mean anything
  • Michael, having never watched the show, watched through it to prepare for the role, describing it as an intense process Awkward sentence
  • One of the blurbs mentions Tony Sirico, but there is no mention of him in text and the blurb does not state his relevance
  • Gandolfini's performance as Tony Soprano is widely regarded as among the greatest performances in television history I have a bit of an issue with widely regarded being used in Wikipedia articles. I have no doubt to his greatness, but I am not sure this isn't original research.
  • I have attributed "widely regarded" to television critics. Almost all of the article I've read from critics include his character as one of the best TV performances of all time. Let me know if I should change the sentence further. -- LuK3 (Talk) 00:58, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • The Last Castle and Where The Wild Things Are are mentioned in the lead as notable roles, but don't get any mention under his career.
  • In theory we should mention his death in the lead as it is a section (even one or two words). Also the legacy is a bit short. There are plenty of mentions about how he inspired other characters that probably should be in there too.
  • I added a brief sentence on his death in the lead. I also added a few sentences about his legacy and influence to the section.
  • Images seem fine, references are good and it is a nice balanced article. Not much to do to get it over the line AIRcorn (talk) 08:05, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
    • Aircorn, Just a quick note, I saw the comments and will address them throughout this afternoon. I'll ping you again when I finish. Thanks! -- LuK3 (Talk) 16:09, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
      • Aircorn, I believe I addressed all of your comments above. Please let me know if I missed something. -- LuK3 (Talk) 20:16, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
        • Thanks LuK3. I am happy with everything except the "widely regarded" at this stage. I may need a little more convincing on this one. Is there a source that specifically says widely regarded or some other variant (generally considered, broadly recognised, commonly held to be etc). One source is a listicle and I didn't read anything in the Sopranos section that convincingly supported this statement. The other cite is better, but still doesn't support "among the greatest performances in television history" a pretty big claim let alone the "widely regarded". If you could point to a talk page conversation or other form of consensus that supports this that would help. RegardsAIRcorn (talk) 21:06, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
          • Aircorn, thank you for the reply. I have changed the sentence and removed "widely regarded". Unfortunately there are no discussions regarding the sentence on the talk page. Please let me know if I should change any further. Thank you! -- LuK3 (Talk) 22:15, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
