The result of the move request was: moved Interstellarity (talk) 23:17, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- James Esdaile (lord mayor) → James Esdaile (politician)
- Anne Klein (senator) → Anne Klein (politician)
– Following WP:NCPDAB, my understanding is that on Wikipedia we generally prefer "(politician)" rather than a role-specific title. —BarrelProof (talk) 04:17, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Necrothesp: Based on your comment at Talk:Thomas Wright (Lord Mayor), you may wish to comment here as well. —BarrelProof (talk) 17:53, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
- Considering that other comment by Necrothesp, it may be best not to take action on the first suggestion in this proposal unless there is some further comment. —BarrelProof (talk) 00:26, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
- Support Klein, Oppose Esdaile. Lord Mayors of London are generally not really politicians, but businessmen. The disambiguator is fine unless we know what his actual profession was (that would actually be better). -- Necrothesp (talk) 07:52, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
- Support Klein and Move James Esdaile to James Esdaile (mayor). Per Necrothesp I agree that Esdaile isn't really a politician, so we shouldn't give him that title, but per Talk:List_of_mayors_of_Leeds#Requested_move_23_September_2017 we established that "lord mayor" isn't really a common noun, and we should just style him as "mayor" instead when talking about the role (as opposed to "Lord Mayor of London" which is a proper name title). — Amakuru (talk) 10:28, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- I really can't see where that discussion came to conclusion you say it did. The decision to rename lists of lord mayors and mayors to simple lists of mayors is because the post-holder didn't always have the title of lord mayor and it makes the title of the article less verbose. However, Esdaile himself was a lord mayor, not a mayor. It seems odd to refer to a Lord Mayor of London simply as a mayor. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:45, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- Support Klein and Move James Esdaile to James Esdaile (mayor), per excellent reasoning by Amakuru. bd2412 T 14:22, 24 May 2019 (UTC)

Footnote: Following the RM discussion, James Esdaile (lord mayor) was moved to James Esdaile (mayor) and Anne Klein (senator) was moved to Anne Klein (politician). —BarrelProof (talk) 02:39, 20 June 2019 (UTC)
