Edits accusing James Chance of racism

[edit]

There were two edits by User:Littleteapotshortandstout accusing James Chance of racist sentiments. The sources provided were three interviews. These interviews do not accuse James Chance of racist sentiment. Instead, the editor has personally determined that the interviews are evidence of racist sentiment. As a result, I have removed the claim. Any assertion of racist sentiment by James Chance needs to be specifically described in the sources. --Techn0logist (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 06:40, 17 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Seems ridiculous that these accusations were added back in. At least in the first interview, he talks about how his music has roots in black music but that he doesn't try to emulate that culture in his music, because that's not who he is. He uses a slur in quoting people that he explicitly calls racist. It seems entirely the opinion of one person that these are racist statements. There's an argument to be made, sure, but that's not how wikipedia works. 2600:1700:2120:7690:394A:C6ED:E9:20A9 (talk) 01:25, 11 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
