The result of the move request was: no consensus on the first two, third moved. Unanimous consensus to move #3, on the first two there is no consensus between the supporters arguing that both were known as "James" and opposers arguing Jim was the most common name for the pianist and avoiding a WP:TWODABS. Oppose first two, Support third. There's only one article needing the title "James Caine" and one needing the title "Jim Caine", so no title conflict. Just point to the current dab page from hatnotes on each of the two articles. Station1 (talk) 05:36, 9 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support both people are called "James" but the jazz pianist seems to be the only usage with the "Jim" variant and has more views (40) than the footballer (19)[[1]]. Crouch, Swale (talk) 16:24, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support all. The footballer is pretty obscure (precisely five league appearances) and the musician was also called James Caine. To be honest, knowing how working-class people tended to be known in his era, I would be very surprised if the footballer was even known as James Caine. Jim or Jimmy would be far more likely. -- Necrothesp (talk) 12:47, 11 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
