Age
[edit]Confusion about age. Main text says born 1935, but side-box says 1938. Cannot both be right! Sitush (talk) 00:36, 17 July 2008 (UTC)
This is resolved: 1938 Tim bates (talk) 18:33, 10 July 2009 (UTC)
A search of the official Birth Index for the year 1938 does not reveal the registration of a birth in the name of a James C(hristopher) Bolam. However a search of the year 1935 does reveal the registration of a birth in the September quarter of that year of a James C Bolam in Sunderland. The mother's maiden name is given as "Durey". The parents of James Bolam were Robert Alfred Bolam & Marion Alice Durey. Causeyfarm (talk) 17:24, 27 October 2009 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:Terry Collier.jpg
[edit]The image File:Terry Collier.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.

err...bollocks. Best Wishes, Fairlightseven —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.20.18.139 (talk) 19:51, 13 July 2009 (UTC)
- The image has a rationale for the page Terry Collier but I doubt it could be justified on this page. Nontheless it improves the page and I'm certainly not going to remove it, Copyright is something I only pay a reluctant lip-service to. If an over-zelous editor with a penchant for copyright licencing enforcement wishes to remove it I will not object.
The claim of fair use is allowed for characters and may reasonably stand for a deceased actor. Being as James Bolam is still alive it is posible to obtain a free-use copy. Mtaylor848 (talk) 14:38, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Singer
[edit]James Bolam is a famous, honored and well loved actor whose career spans five or more decades. I think it would be a bit much to describe him as an actor and singer simply because he also sings. I have retained the reference to his participation in a choir, but I have removed references from the lede and the infobox, and a category item, that all appeared to be making too much of the singing. James Bolam is really not known, to the world at large, as a singer, any more than Stephen Jay Gould was known as a singer. --TS 20:48, 3 December 2010 (UTC)
