Improving
[edit]James Barrier was a wrestling promoter, not an actual wrestler (corrected in his article).AuthorAuthor (talk) 06:10, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
Am attempting to improve this article to make it accurate, without opinions and conspiracy theories, and with citations, per Wikipedia guidelines.AuthorAuthor (talk) 08:20, 10 July 2008 (UTC)
- I am attempting to keep this article unbiased. User SteveMiller4LV continues to repost uncited statements that are not based on evidence, from reliable sources and from what I have been able to gather, from police or the medical examiner's office. I have left notes to the user on his talk page. He's ignoring them and continuing to repost. Short of calling it out and out vandalism, I am reverting to the previous version. Thank you.AuthorAuthor (talk) 02:27, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
- Am attempting to keep this article neutral, but user SteveMiller4LV (and now anonymous) continues reposting statements that do not relate to the James Barrier death case.

- User SteveMiller4LV has received "talk" messages about reposting, over and over, an unverifiable claim. He has been asked to review NPOV guidelines. He either is ignoring these notes or he doesn't know how to access them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AuthorAuthor (talk • contribs) 03:44, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- Explanation of GHB in James Barrier's body and coroner's statement with a citation should suffice.AuthorAuthor (talk) 03:48, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- The problem with SteveMiller4LV's addition is not so much WP:NOPOV as original research. I have explained this on his talk page. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 22:51, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you for the clarification as well as the explanation on SteveMiller4LV's talk page. Hopefully he'll read it.AuthorAuthor (talk) 23:49, 13 July 2008 (UTC)
- SteveMiller4LV just reposted the same thing again, only this time he's done away with the categories, references and notes (no doubt by accident because he doesn't seem familiar with posting). I'm undoing what he just did and putting categories, etc., back in place. AuthorAuthor (talk) 04:17, 14 July 2008 (UTC)
Death
[edit]If SteveMiller4LV wishes to add the material that has been removed here is what he/she needs to do. Please read the following and the pages the links lead to if you don't understand what is meant. First find a reliable cite that verifies what it says. This means a publication that reports the death and identifies and quotes the opinions of the "experts" that you have not previously identified. The following do not qualify as cites;
- Forums, blogs and the the personal opinions or theories of fans, friends or family. See Wikipedia policy on this here.
- Cites to articles that discuss GHB in general terms and do not discuss James Barrier's case. Sourcing information from these articles and then applying it yourself to James Barrier is what is known as original synthesis and is not permitted on Wikipedia. You need to find a good source where someone has already reached the same conclusion, then cite it.
Once you have done this put it on this talk page, and if it says what you claim it says and others agrees, you can put it on the page. Wikipedia is not a place for you to campaign for the truth. Nor is it a place where anyone is hiding the truth. All that is asked of you is that the information you add, particularly if it is controversial as this, is verifiable so that readers know you are not just pushing a personal opinion that has no credibility.
Thanks. --Escape Orbit (Talk) 16:06, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
