Hello, I found the grave James Barlow Hoy in the cimetière de Terre-Cabade, Toulouse (France). The inscription on it, quite damaged, tells he died "on a shooting Excursion in the Pyrennees near ... Hosp... de Viell...". I'm quite confused because there is no place called "Vielle" or "Hospice de Vielle" in France. On an other hand, there is in the Val d'Aran a place named (in Occitan) Espitau de Vielha (42.628679, 0.760881), wich could be translated Hospice de Vielle in French, Hospital of Vielha in English. It's on the Spanish side of the frontier but his corpse was then buried in Toulouse, France... If I trust what is said, "he was again abroad due to his wife's ill health", I guess she was at Bagnères-de-Luchon, a popular station at that times, near Val d'Aran and Espitau de Vielha.
