New Photo

Can we get a new photo of James? He is 15 now, and the photo shown is from when we was barely out his toddler stages. StrawWord298944 (talk) 20:59, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

We can if we can find one that meets Wikipedia's image use policy. You are welcome to search. Surtsicna (talk) 21:39, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

Side bar: House of Windsor

In the sidebar 'House of Windsor', why are the children and grandchildren of King Charles III omitted? King Charles himself is included, as are his nephews and nieces etc - why not the rest of his family? Gerglish (talk) 17:59, 10 September 2022 (UTC)

The template has 5 variants, one for each monarch. The variant for Charles III (right) includes them but the one for Elizabeth II is more relevant here. DrKay (talk) 19:34, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for your reply. With respect, it is a statement of fact without giving a reason for the omission in this specific version. The fact remains that this version of the sidebar incorrectly lists six grandchildren of the late Queen instead of eight, without indicating that there are other variants or explaining why this should be so. I leave the comment open but accept that there is a Wikipedia convention at stake, however factually misleading the result. Gerglish (talk) 23:06, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

The sidebar is misleading and unnecessary. It does not improve the article. Therefore, it should go. Surtsicna (talk) 23:25, 12 September 2022 (UTC)

Not the heir-apparent to the Dukedom of Edinburgh

Apparently, James won't be succeeding his father as Duke of Edinburgh. Not sure if this is a first for legitimate sons of royal dukes. GoodDay (talk) 01:11, 11 March 2023 (UTC)

Correct. HRH Prince Edward hold the Dukedom of Edinburgh as a life peerage, non-hereditary title. StrawWord298944 (talk) 20:58, 12 March 2023 (UTC)

Orphaned references in James, Earl of Wessex

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of James, Earl of Wessex's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "bbcroyaltitles":

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 19:24, 18 March 2023 (UTC)
