Fair use rationale for Image:Lieutenant Laura Cadman.jpg

[edit]

Image:Lieutenant Laura Cadman.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:57, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Although the information here is mostly reasonable, it needs citations. Since it sounds like most of it came from a single interview or article, that shouldn't be difficult. But could whoever entered it, please provide the relevant reference? If not, I'll dig something up myself. Arikk (talk) 11:09, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I remember reading the whole thing on the Biography page of Newman's official website, which disappeared a good while ago. So all the information we've got on her comes from this one unavailable source... How sad. I tried searching a bit, but apart from the three links in the "External links" section of the article, there is practically nothing to be found except on various (unreliable) "celebrity" sites.
And while we're on the subject, would anyone object to the addition of the extra information provided by the three sources in the "External links" section? I've seen a few tidbits that could nourish Newman's article. I'm well aware that these come from somewhat shady pages, but maybe we should let that slip given the total lack of serious, critical sources.

Jewish !?

[edit]

Okay, so she sang at Bat Mitzvah parties when she was young, went to the Los Angeles Jewish Film Festival and is being covered by j. the Jewish news weekly. Yet, where's the "official" proof? I'm guessing she's trying not to publicize this because religion's a personal thing, but how come it's never been stated and/or written down somewhere at least once or twice (well, to my very limited knowledge at least)? Can someone please find some reliable source to ascertain this "fact"?

Well, I added a reference to the list of alumni from Hillel Day School. I think it's a little unnecessary to question her religious status, but hopefully this will fill something of the gap. Arikk (talk) 21:19, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Someone recently removed the "Jewish actors" category. Please people, this is a non-controversial claim, not discussed in the body of the article (only as a Category), and verifiable to an extent appropriate to its non-controversiality. If anyone feels differently, please discuss it here before making unilateral changes. Arikk (talk) 06:03, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to me that "Category:Jewish Actors" was removed because it wasn't linked to any page—that is, existed—anymore. After a quick research, I found "Category:Jewish actors" is doing very well and thus fixed the category in the article appropriately. I hope that settles it!
