- @Epicgenius: Actually this is difficult. There are a lot of interlinking lagoons near the northern tip of Sri Lanka. Jaffna Lagoon, or the Jaffna Lagoon complex as some sources call it, is not specifically mentioned in connection with migratory birds. Most of the sources quoted are either about the lagoons in general or about specific ones (with seemingly variable Sinhalese names), and although the lagoons are mostly linked, do not necessarily refer to Jaffna Lagoon. There are also problems with the dates of the sources, and what was true during the civil war is not necessarily true now. So I think I had just better withdraw this nomination.
