Weasel words/exaggeration

[edit]

"There is almost no French Person alive who hasn't heard..." certain songs. Says who? Did this guy actually take a survey?

Actually, I'm french and I can tell you that this is a very safe assumption. These songs are to this day used for countless commercials, or reappereance on TV's and movies.--Avigeyl 12:35, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bias?

[edit]

"There is almost no French person alive who does not know "Et moi, et moi, et moi", "Les Playboys", and "Le cactus". Other great songs include "Mini, mini, mini", "Le responsable", "J'ai un tigre dans ma guitare", and "L'opportuniste"." Although the first sentence was discussed above, both it and the phrase "other great songs" seems a bit biased...

Kleenex Advert Sept 2011

[edit]

Never heard of him before the latest UK TV advert for Kleenex using 'Mini, Mini, Mini'. If its not a Filmography entry reference, what is it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.197.68.186 (talk) 04:54, 13 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Waterloo Sunset

[edit]

I don't think the tune of "Il Est Cinq Heures, Paris S'éveille" is akin to Waterloo Sunset. "5 AM" echoes "Sunset", ok, but it does not go much further. Maybe "Waterloo Sunset" inspired "Il Est Cinq Heures, Paris S'éveille" but these two songs are not much alike. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.151.181.230 (talk) 20:27, 6 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Though it's a decade later, I agree completely. Thematically maybe the lyrics are somewhat related but the sound, the tone, the style are all completely different and it is almost inappropriate to to say tha tthey are akin. EcheveriaJ (talk) 00:31, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Differentiating between albums

[edit]

Dutronc's first seven albums are all eponymous: do fans use any other unofficial titles to describe them, in the same way that Led Zeppelin's fourth album is informally known as Led Zeppelin IV and Metallica's eponymous fifth album is often called The Black Album? ~dom Kaos~ (talk) 13:12, 27 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

or, indeed, the first few peter gabriel albums... 86.164.77.5 (talk) 18:17, 18 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Reference #38 to Miles Kane seems useless
