Incorporating material from Dehez 2006
[edit]Professor Pierre Dehez of CORE has kindly allowed Wikipedia to have the material from his unpublished paper "About Jacques H. DREZE [DRÈZE]" 2006. In the next few days, I shall transfer and link material from this, afterwhich I shall update the formatting and referencing, to ensure consistency and compliance with Wikipedia guidelines. Professor Dehez's paper has careful references, which will take some time to restore to the Wikipedia format. Thank you for your patience. Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 13:23, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Article size
[edit]The guideline Wikipedia:Article size suggests 32 kilobytes as a general maximum size. Since this article is now at 42 kilobytes, it would be useful to begin reducing the size of the article with editing. Redundancies should be removed, and the personal-style of some parts (which would be appropriate for e.g. a volume in honor of JHD) should be changed into a more encyclodpediac style. Thanks. Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 14:52, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
References
[edit]I'm adding references from the C.V., which allows me to adapt the material from the Dehez paper, which references Drèze's c.v.
Once those references are listed, I plan to convert the references to normal Wikipedia format. Please be patient during this restructuring. Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 18:14, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Leaving this editing revision for a month, unfortunately.
[edit]I was unable to finish the conversion of the references from the CV. I shall return in a month to this task. Sorry for any inconvience. Sincerely, Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 00:36, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
- The "month" was long. I shall make further revisions soon. Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 13:26, 29 December 2009 (UTC)
Economist box
[edit]I reverted the edits replacing the Scientist box with the Economist box: The new box had arbitrary categorization (neo-Walrasian versus Walrasian-keynesian or something similar); the new box broke many of the links, so it looked bad; the new box deleted the first names of persons, creating ambiguity (e.g. J-F Richards became "Richard").
Please propose changes on the talk page, and strive for consensus. If you change the box again, please be responsible for correcting broken links.
Also, please provide some citation for the categorization: Dreze regards himself as a general equilibrium theorist. What is the evidence for labeling him as neo-classical or Walrasian, etc.? ~Thanks, Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 15:44, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- You could've fixed the broken links on your own instead of calling me out. Plus, I'll take out that school of thought part (which was based on [1]). --bender235 (talk) 16:27, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- Also, make sure you understand the difference between broken links and red links. Red links actually drive Wikipedia's growth. --bender235 (talk) 16:32, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- Your points are valid, so I am especially sorry for my irritated tone. Some information no longer appears in the box, but it's good that the WP economists contribute to the article. Kiefer.Wolfowitz (talk) 18:00, 21 February 2010 (UTC)
- Roger J-B Wets's personal page at UCD also lists his legal spelling, which lacks periods. The legal spelling is correct on Variational Analysis (with R. T. Rockafellar).

Jacques H. Drèze is the father of Jean Drèze, so the title of this article is incorrect. |
