Elordi was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia on 26 June 1997 to John and Melissa Elordi. He is of [[Spanisn][Spain]] descent.

Not done, Basque is relevant. The subject even says he is not of Spanish descent but of Basque descent. – Thjarkur (talk) 19:40, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

I'm Spanish and as Spanish understand the difference between Basque (which is a Region within Spain) from the Country. So In my opinion does not matter what the subject says about it but the facts that He might be Spanish descendants from the region of the Basque. Is like to say that I'm from Madrid or Catalonia which is not incorrect making it predominantly over the Country as all those situations they only have 1 passport and is from the Kingdom of Spain. For that reason Mr. Jacob Elordi having Basque surname and being descendant from people from the Basque region his nationality must be "Spanish". — Preceding unsigned comment added by MeV-AW (talkcontribs) 06:42, 27 October 2020 (UTC)

Basque Country

The Basque Country is an autonomous community of the Kingdom of Spain, so adding it is totally correct. Nidthogg (talk) 15:43, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

While it may be true it's not necessary to include as its entirely redundant when readers can just click on the wikilink and to add, it has nothing to do with Elordi, and even less so since it's about his father. CUPIDICAE💕 16:21, 18 April 2022 (UTC)
Nidthogg You literally just got off a block for edit warring this into the article and refuse to discuss it here and you restore the exact contentious material...please revert or I will have no choice but to take this to ANI and request an indefinite block. CUPIDICAE💕 21:17, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

I have explained in the last edition that it is not redundant. Adding the detail that his family comes from the Spanish area enriches the article. The way you say, they would have to go to another article to read it and that's more annoying. Nidthogg (talk) 21:21, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

But you haven't gotten consensus or given an actual adequate explanation as to how this is relevant and WP:DUE in an article about an Australian actor. I really would rather avoid the drama of ANI again today, so it's your choice, revert or we take it there. CUPIDICAE💕 21:26, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

It is just as relevant as indicating that his ancestors are Basque. I only specify more, since wikipedia is a place of knowledge, and knowledge does not take place.

The feeling I get is that you don't want to discuss and don't want them to edit, and for that reason you threaten permanent bans. Nidthogg (talk) 21:31, 19 April 2022 (UTC)

I agree with Cupidicae in that it's redundant. It might be helpful to see note a in WP:MOSBIO#Notes for cases like this. As for your last point, you were asked several times to discuss the issue but wouldn't, please read WP:CON for info on consensus and WP:EW on edit warring to better understand the reason behind your ban. Suonii180 (talk) 10:50, 20 April 2022 (UTC)

I maintain my position in indicating that it is not redundant, since there are two countries, Spain and France, where the so-called Basque people live, and indicating which country they come from exactly, enriches the article by making it more precise. Nidthogg (talk) 10:35, 24 April 2022 (UTC)

Nidthogg has continued to edit war this poorly sourced, redundant content back into the article despite discussion here and a lack of engagement by them. PRAXIDICAE💕 21:08, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

I do not intend any editing war, I am simply providing more information that I think is relevant. A lot of people don't know where the Basque country is, so I think that indicating that it is an autonomous community of Spain enriches the article.

Nidthogg (talk) 21:24, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

In addition, from the editors who do not agree with what I write, I have not received any reason or explanation as to why what I write is wrong, they only indicate that it is not necessary, without adding coherent reasons Nidthogg (talk) 21:24, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

We don't need to endlessly repeat what's wrong when you've refused to listen the first twenty times. If someone wants to know about Basque Country, they can click the link. —Joeyconnick (talk) 22:00, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
Nidthogg you are incorrect and blatantly lying in your statement that no one has explained it to you. I have explained it to you directly no less than 8 times, in edit summaries at least 12+ and even on this page multiple times. The fact that you have chosen not to read (or understand) it is your problem, not Wikipedia's. PRAXIDICAE💕 22:01, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
And so there's no confusion, it's redundant because Basque country is already linked - if people are confused as to where it is, they can literally click the wikilink that is prominently displayed which states exactly what you already said. This article is about Elordi, who is an Australian actor, not his father and not Basque country or Spain. It's a one off sentence about his father's heritage and doesn't need further redundant expansion. PRAXIDICAE💕 22:06, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

I am not lying when I say that no one has refuted what I have said. No one has given me a single reason, except that indicating that the Basque country belongs to Spain is redundant (when it is not, since not everyone knows that), for not allowing me to edit the article. Thus it is impossible to reach a consensus. Click in the Basque country link doesn't make sense, especially when looking at other Wikipedia entries. For example, Jim Carrey's article says: Carrey was born in the Toronto suburb of Newmarket, Ontario, Canada. Why so much explanation? Indicating that it is from Tornoto would be worth it, right? Why is it that in that article it is possible to specify to which country Toronto belongs, but in Jacob Elordi's it cannot be explained to which country the Basque Country belongs?

Now, since I have proved myself right, neither of you will answer. Nidthogg (talk) 22:15, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Repeating the same screed is doing you no favors, if you can't make a cogent argument, it's best you stop beating this horse or else you may find yourself with more than a partial block. I and others, including Ponyo have explained this to you. You're now just badgering the discussion and it's quite disruptive. PRAXIDICAE💕 22:17, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
Last, your statement is patently untrue as nowhere in this article does it currently or has it said anything about Spain. except for your edit including it. And more importantly, the article is about Jacob Elordi, not his father so your point about Jim Carrey's page is completely silly and moot, especially considering Elordi was born in Australia. PRAXIDICAE💕 22:18, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

You say that I cannot give convincing arguments when it is you who do not give one. If the article does not talk about the father, why is the Basque country mentioned? it doesn't make sense, it should be removed then. Disparaging my comment about Jim Carrey just shows that you have no counterargument and is a way of proving me right, thanks. Nidthogg (talk) 22:32, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

His father emigrated from the Basque Country at the age of eight.[2][3 under "early life" is the only mention - and it's about his father, but we're well beyond WP:IDHT territory so I'm left with no choice but to take this to ANI where you can make your argument there. PRAXIDICAE💕 22:39, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

Look, here you have the same case. In Scarlette Johansson's article they briefly mention her father: Scarlett Ingrid Johansson was born on November 22, 1984, in the Manhattan borough of New York City.[1][2][3] Her father, Karsten Olaf Johansson, is an architect originally from Copenhagen, Denmark.

Here it is not redundant to indicate that it is from Copenhagen and Denmark? People could click on Copenhagen just to read that it is a city in Denmark. Nidthogg (talk) 22:50, 9 May 2022 (UTC)

If you resume disrupting the article with pointless commentary when your partial block expires, your block will be expanded. I suggest you move on to other things if you wish to keep editing Wikipedia. OhNoitsJamie Talk 04:20, 10 May 2022 (UTC)

Why are my comments pointless? I think I have always explained myself well and I think I have provided evidence that the information I want to add to this article has been added to other articles. I have been told that without consensus an article cannot be edited, but from what I am seeing, it is impossible for there to be consensus since people do not debate, they only threaten to block and accuse of edit war.
