odd footnote caller

This footnote caller caught my eye:

Lt. Col. Stanley Radzyminski MD

?? Was he a Marine? Then he wasn't an MD. If he was a MD, he was Navy. The Marines don't have their own doctors; they use Navy doctors. Perhaps he was Army, but the Army wasn't on Guadalcanal. Something is off with this. WhoAmIYouDoNotKnow (talk) 01:11, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I checked against the source and he was not in it so I removed. Some checking shows that there were Navy medical officers used (but I don't think the Navy uses Lt. Col. as a rank). --Erp (talk) 04:14, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Navy and Coast Guard don't use Lt Col as a rank. Since the Marines don't have their own medical people, your edit is correct. WhoAmIYouDoNotKnow (talk) 12:56, 21 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
