Michael Jackson "King of Pop, Rock and Soul"?
[edit]I recently simplified the entry for Michael Jackson to 'widely referred to as the "King of Pop"', this change was reverted and made even worse (IMO), rather than just revert it back I thought I'd note it here. --Superfly Jon (talk) 16:10, 24 August 2012 (UTC)
It is an Anglo-Saxon surname, not Gaelic; it was brought to Scotland by Anglo-Saxon migration, and should be classified as English. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.176.124.64 (talk) 01:25, 19 February 2016 (UTC)
Jackson: one of the most English surnames whatsoever
[edit]Jackson is an English family name, originally hailing from Yorkshire, Northern England. It isn't Scottish and certainly not "American" (not denying the huge amount of people with the family name Jackson in the US). The English name Jack was furthermore unknown in Scotland (Scottish version: "Jock")
Andrew Jacksons paternal forefathers i.e. came from England (again Yorkshire) via Ulster/Northern Ireland to the US. Not from Scotland.
