Robert Shute and Jackie Shute
[edit]To answer the question that someone will undoubtably ask - Shute Shield is named after Robert Shute who died as a result of head injury incurred during a match in 1922. It is reported here that the person who made the tackle was none other than Jackie Shute. That same article states that they were not relatives.
