Objection to renaming of page

[edit]

I object to the changing of the birthdate and renaming of this page based on a four-letter edit summary. SIHR (or Society for International Hockey Research) has been wrong in the past and I don't trust this one, private source in the face of every other one - SIHR is the ONLY source that claims he was born in 1920 that I could find and considering that there was an article on Riley at the age of 90 (under external links), I would like to see more evidence than just "SIHR" before it is concluded that he was born in 1920. Changes like this require consensus, as the majority of sources suggest a 1919 birth. Canadian Paul 15:18, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was forwarded some information and saw what the problem is: the 1920 birth date refers to Jack Riley, the Olympic hockey player, who is listed on Wikipedia as John P. Riley, Jr. This article is about Jack THOMAS Riley, born June 14, 1919 according to SIHR and other sources. Canadian Paul 15:10, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
