– While the current page at the specified location is DABing two extant people, Jack Parr (basketball), even as a far less well known figure than Jack Paar, is the WP:PTOPIC for Jack Parr by virtue of being the only person on Wikipedia with a name spelled that way. Support Jack Parr (basketball) → Jack Parr and oppose Jack Parr → Jack Parr (disambiguation), but would support Jack Parr → delete to make room for the move. Hatnotes would suffice — currently, the entry for the American talk show host, who started in broadcasting 85 years ago, does not even have a hatnote and Jack-Jack Parr, the character from The Incredibles, is only a redirect. —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 21:40, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine, and preferable by me. I was not sure if in this RM I was allowed to say per WP:TWODABS, Jack Parr (the DAB) is unnecessary and advocate for its deletion here, but WP:IAR and WP:NOTBURO should be enough for deleting a moved DAB page that is not needed according to policy. Having said that, if that is controversial, don't want to hold up the move and at worst Jack Parr/Jack Parr (disambiguation) can undergo AfD, but if no one objects, I'm fine with deleting the current DAB at Jack Parr. Since there are some hatnotes styled "Not to be confused with...", such as the one at the above-mentioned Duane Johnson that states, "Not to be confused with Dwayne Johnson", or the one at Jon Ronson that states, "Not to be confused with Ron Johnson (disambiguation)", two hatnotes may be more acceptable if presented as dissimilar — one would explain, "Not to be confused with Jack Paar", while the other would state, "For the character, see List of The Incredibles characters#Jack-Jack Parr" or "For Jack-Jack Parr, see List of The Incredibles characters#Jack-Jack Parr". —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 08:23, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
