White lyrics
[edit]There are at least three peculiar uses of the word 'white' in Jack Lumsdaine's lyrics, which seem to be a sly racist reference to the White Australia Policy.
- 'Canberra Calling' describes Canberra as a city of white.
- 'Somewhere south of shanghai' mentions the wake as 'white miles left behind us' on a boat to china.
- 'Cobber O Mine' descibes his best mate as 'white' through and through
