Isn't his birth certificate name "John something Aitchison"? In ictu oculi (talk) 18:34, 22 May 2016 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: moved as proposed. Clear consensus for the second move, while the arguments in support of the first move are generally stronger than those in oppose. SSTflyer 09:44, 30 May 2016 (UTC)
- Jack Aitchison (footballer, born 2000) → Jack Aitchison
- Jack Aitchison → Jack Aitchison (Australian footballer)
– He may have only just started playing, but having become Celtic's youngest ever player, youngest ever goalscorer, and the first player in Scottish football to born in the 21st century, he is already more notable than his namesake will ever be. The Australian (who apparently played one match in his career) only has one link to his page and will never have any notability - ever. Unreal7 (talk) 16:12, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Oppose first WP:TOOEARLY he just made his debut, but Support second since the baseline should probably redirect to John Aitchison (disambiguation) Jack is short for John. In ictu oculi (talk) 18:33, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- NO. Jack is an old nickname for John, not short for it, and it's been a name in its own right for a very long time. Unreal7 (talk) 20:34, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Support. His career is young, but he's definitely already surpassed someone who played one meaningful match in 1935. -- Tavix (talk) 23:41, 22 May 2016 (UTC)
- Support. There will be a lot more people looking for the younger Jack than the 1935 footballer. Terlob (talk) 01:57, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- Move Jack Aitchison (footballer, born 2000) → Jack Aitchison (British footballer) Jack Aitchison (Scottish footballer) and Jack Aitchison → Jack Aitchison (Australian footballer). No primary topic and RECENT comes into play here, per In ictu oculi. CookieMonster755 📞 ✉ ✓ 21:37, 23 May 2016 (UTC)
- Absolutely not. We never, ever use "British footballer". Unreal7 (talk) 22:20, 24 May 2016 (UTC)
We never, ever use "British footballer"
where did you get that notion? Is there a policy about that? I really am trying not to lose my cool with ya, friend, but you ain't remaining civil. I will support Jack Aitchison (Scottish footballer), now that I think about it. CookieMonster755 📞 ✉ ✓- Don't lose your cool. I'm only following what I've seen many times before, because there are thousands and thousands of articles about English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish footballers and I've never seen a single one that says "British footballer". Scottish is fine, but not in this case since he's more notable than his namesake. Unreal7 (talk) 08:59, 26 May 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks for your lovely advise @Unreal7:) CookieMonster755 📞 ✉ ✓ 15:41, 27 May 2016 (UTC)

- Oppose. Not yet any clear primary topic. Move to Jack Aitchison (Scottish footballer) (which we certainly do use) and Jack Aitchison (Australian footballer) and retain Jack Aitchison as a disambiguation page. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:57, 25 May 2016 (UTC)
- Support per WP:TWODABS. If Scottish one can be demonstrated to be reasonably more notable than the Australian (and I've been convinced), he should take the primary spot, linking to the other via hatnote. A two-entry dab page is unacceptable in such situation. No such user (talk) 13:58, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
- Support as the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC in a WP:TWODABS situation. I don't think recentism is a factor here. Both individuals played 1 game in the top level of their sports in their country. This one scored a goal in his one game and the other didn't. He also has notability as the youngest person to play for his team, and for representing Scotland at the youth level. Even if he never played another game, he's apparently surpassed the notability of the only other Jack Aitchison with an article. The other player certainly isn't the primary topic, per WP:TWODABS he can be distinguished with a hat note just as easily as by creating a dab page with only two entries.--Cúchullain t/c 14:53, 27 May 2016 (UTC)
