Speedy deletion??
JYP is a major talent agency in South Korea. The article may not be written all that well, but that's no reason to tag it for speedy deletion. It needs more sources, sure, but even the ones that are on the article show enough notability. SKS (talk) 22:01, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
K.Will no longer with JYP
therefore he should be removed from the list, or least have an ex- tag or something similar —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.238.240.90 (talk) 14:42, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
4minute is still under CUBE entertainment
there I see no reason why are they under former artiste. FYI, eddie and mario is part of cube too. But since they are not active, I will let it pass~
Nicky456 (talk) 13:26, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Why did you merge Cube Entertainment into this article
They are NOT under JYPE for pete's sake. Do some more research and provide true facts that they are under one another before merging them all to be under the same company. I will definitely be requesting a spilt or a clean-up on this article as the merging lacked a lot of information. Blueknightex (talk) 23:14, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Are there any sources that say they aren't related in any way? There seems to be no concrete proof either way. It would help if there was. 71.135.108.56 (talk) 21:51, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
They are a sister company of JYPE, because the founder and CEO of Cube Entertainment was a former worker of JYP. He moved on and formed his own company, Cube Entertainment, which currently has 4minute and B2ST under it's label. It is not under JYPE, but it's simply a sister company. They help each other out and such. For example, HyunA Kim (Currently under Cube) Former member of Wonder girls, was under JYPE entertainment as a trainee. She became a member of Wonder Girls, but left to health issues. After that incident, she transferred to Cube and became a member of 4minute. Amiieey (talk) 01:44, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, but you are completely misunderstanding the term of "subsidiary". They are companies that are set up by another for a number of reasons like maybe because their own company cannot hold or manage enough artists so they make another one. Also, Cube Entertainment's shares/earnings are not shared with JYPE. About HyunAh transferring to Cube can also be done by any trainee from any company. Like for example Hyun Seung from BEAST was a YG traineed who transferred from YG to Cube. Anyone can do that -_-
- Please, do some more research about Cube Entertainment by going to their website for more information. They are definitely not under JYPE so please stop placing them as a subsidiary company of JYPE and proposing merges. Stop associating them with JYPE. Blueknightex (talk) 08:59, 1 August 2011 (UTC)
I will be correcting the articles
I plan to delete out the redundant information or maybe put them somewhere in a subsection because there are many details that do not necessarily belong to the section. Bigbang1994 (talk) 22:58, 22 March 2013 (UTC)
Client listing
Why is practically every client, past and present, listed? I think it is excessive detail for a descriptive encyclopedia article. -- ArglebargleIV (talk) 20:12, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
- I've cleaned out the former clients from the active rosters, and also all the detail about how many members are in the boy band, their colors, and fan club WP:FANCRUFT. JYP doesn't assign colors and fan club names to the groups, so why should that be in the article? The former members list is somewhat unwieldy but I removed all the cruft about reasons for leaving. It needs to be standardized per Wikipedia:ALUMNI. The detail of "where are they now" can also be trimmed down or deleted. Trainees can retain the byline (e.g. member of B2ST) if they don't have an article by themselves. All of this needs to be sourced properly. -AngusWOOF (talk) 01:06, 4 May 2013 (UTC)
Article Division Proposal
The article does not need a list of labels under this article. I propose that the article be divided into two, the main one being this article JYP Entertainment and the second one being the List of JYP Entertainment labels to be created. Please list comments below. If there are none, I will move to create the article. Precedents: List of Warner Music Group labels, List of Universal Music Group labels, List of Sony Music Entertainment labels Kkj11210 (talk) 06:29, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
- Since there were no objections for the past week, I will go ahead with the article splitting. Please comment here or the splitted page --List of JYP Entertainment labels.Kkj11210 (talk) 00:43, 29 October 2013 (UTC)
- A good start, but how come List_of_JYP_Entertainment_labels#Actors moved there? They don't seem label affiliated and seem to be the root of an illogical / awkward structure to the article (without them two levels of sub-sectioning could be eliminated). – Ian, DjScrawl (talk) 06:27, 5 December 2013 (UTC)}}
- I just moved the entire section of persons affiliated with JYP without editing the list. If you think it belongs here, then it's fine I guess Kkj11210 (talk) 11:24, 5 December 2013 (UTC)

Please why is jyp entertainment history scanty. Their Wikipedia page doesn't do them justice. Please who is in charge of their page should reconstruct it and bulk it up. Olamidesther (talk) 06:17, 29 November 2016 (UTC)
Former trainees
Hi. Thank you Olamidesther for removing Former trainees section.
Can we all agree to NOT include it in the article? I think it's not really relevant and it is causing vandalism. It is also not included in SM Entertainment page. Or maybe just include the notable trainees like the contestants in Sixteen. Awaiting some feedback. Thank you. Accireioj (talk) 6:01, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- I'm in favor of completely removing the "former trainees" section. It really isn't relevant. Random86 (talk) 18:49, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- I completely agree! I do not find former trainess to be at all notable, and the same goes for current trainees (possibly with the exemption of those who are involved in projects similar to SM Rookies and W Project). Abdotorg (talk) 18:55, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- Agreed. Notable artists are notable for their music, just because they trained at different companies does not make this information relevant. Trainees by definition are almost always non-notable until debuted and done several works outside their respective group. Evaders99 (talk) 20:00, 21 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Khendygirl. Please discuss here regarding the Former trainees section. Thank you. Accireioj (talk) 4:40, 25 October 2017 (UTC)
I think we should not add it. Because some groups new fans are using it for promo. And most didn't even spend up to a year training. Most only auditioned — Preceding unsigned comment added by Olamidesther (talk • contribs) 23:06, 17 November 2017 (UTC)

"Talent Development" section neutrality?
The talent development section seems like it was pulled from a JYP press release: "With such a huge scope of entertainment, there are countless ways to share your talent with JYP" ?? Can anyone advise on the usual protocol, I'm relatively new to editing. 208.65.211.14 (talk) 16:25, 31 July 2019 (UTC) Stephen R

Move items listed under "Joint Ventures" into the "History"
Hi! I was wondering if the details of the items listed under the "Joint Ventures" can be included in the main "History" section? Considering that the details of J. Tune Entertainment, KMP Holdings, and the Nizi Project are already on the main "History" section, why don't we move all of the items into it as well? The "Joint Ventures" section honestly makes the whole Wiki article a little off and a bit too bulky, and I was thinking that the article can be a little cleaner and easier to read if the "Joint Ventures" details are included in the "History". Thanks! GenomAlfredo (talk) 14:34, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
Is the billion won or million won?
I think the figures in the top right box for the operating income and profit, etc. are incorrect, it should be in billions of won? because if its 1000 won to 1 USD, JYP profit is only 700 thousand? It says he eared 7,7 billion won, so that should be 7700 million... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.157.65.93 (talk) 05:24, 8 June 2015 (UTC)

Park sieun was signed as a trainee not as an actress Rinmestar (talk) 07:25, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
- Not done: As per included source, she is both actress and trainee during her times at JYP Entertainment hence listing her under actress is not wrong. — Paper9oll (🔔 • 📝) 07:32, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
Please take note, under for actors and actresses. Somi was a trainee from 2014-2016, she became a signed artist in 2017, why is Got7 spread out they signed in 2014 and ended it in 2021 Rinmestar (talk) 07:27, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

Separating the artists by countries
It doesn't make sense. Especially when groups like Twice and Itzy are releasing Japanese music. NiziU have also released Korean music as well. MiSaMo has only done promotional work in Japan, and not South Korea. All these artists are under JYP Entertainment. Hotwiki (talk) 08:04, 12 September 2024 (UTC)
Gimhaeaborn
@GimhaeBorn:, the current/former artists section aren't really complicated to understand. Dividing the former artists to groups/group members/soloists isn't different, from dividing groups/soloists in the current artists section. Also adding members from a JYP group, that released a solo ep or album or single, under JYP Entertainment isn't misinformation. It shows that an individual can be both a member of a group and a soloist under JYP Entertainment. The list of Jyp Entertainment artists (current and former) isn't even that long compare to record labels like Republic Records, Parlophone and RCA Records. Looking at the current version of this Wikipedia article, it shows 10 current groups, 3 current bands, 12 current soloists, 9 former groups, 7 former group members of an active JYP group and 20 former soloists. The list for JYP Publishing and JYP actors/actresses are longer in comparison as well. Hotwiki (talk) 15:57, 17 September 2024 (UTC)
- @GimhaeBorn: please use this talkpage, to discuss things about the article, rather using the edit summary while you're adding empty spaces. And just because the official website, didn't list down subunits and soloists in their Artists page. It doesn't mean this article has to copy that, especially when JYP Entertainment was responsible for the music releases of those sub units and Soloists. The Wikipedia of List of SM Entertainment artists does it as well, so please stop being disruptive. Hotwiki (talk) 04:01, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- List of SM Entertainment artists It looks easy to see. The previous artist list was pretty good, why did you turn it into such a complicated thing? GimhaeBorn (talk) 04:04, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- How is it complicated? Adding years next to current artists section made the list more informative. Adding more soloists to the list, won't require readers to visit the other Wikipedia articles to know which Twice/Day6/2PM/Wonder Girls/2Am members got a solo music release from JYP Entertainment. So stop removing them. Hotwiki (talk) 04:06, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- @GimhaeBorn: are you going to keep removing sub-units from the groups section, despite knowing that Even of Day and MiSaMo are both groups? If you keep continuing, you will be reported for your continous disruptive editing in this article. Hotwiki (talk) 04:39, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

Former Artists
I love the formatting of the Former Artists section. It makes it really easy to see which past group members debuted as a solo artist, and which members left groups. 73.142.214.133 (talk) 20:54, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
