Copyright problem
[edit]This article has been reverted by a bot to this version as part of a large-scale clean-up project of multiple article copyright infringement. (See the investigation subpage) This has been done to remove User:Accotink2's contributions as they have a history of extensive copyright violation and so it is assumed that all of their major contributions are copyright violations. Earlier text must not be restored, unless it can be verified to be free of infringement. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions must be deleted. Contributors may use sources as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences or phrases. Accordingly, the material may be rewritten, but only if it does not infringe on the copyright of the original or plagiarize from that source. Please see our guideline on non-free text for how to properly implement limited quotations of copyrighted text. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. Mike
[edit]According to a 2002 interview I read in The Independent (UK), Donleavy reveals that he was known as Mike by close friends for much of his life, and further research reveals this fact to be commonly known. Since Donleavy does not explain the origin of this "nickname", I have added the bare-bone fact, with a qualifier that the reasons for it are unknown. If anyone can shed further light on this, please feel free to add/amend. Hanoi Road (talk) 23:50, 25 June 2019 (UTC)
Seems to be correct. A few sources: Guardian [1] Independant [2] The Irish Times [3]. Google quotes the Washington Post as saying that his family nickname was Michael, though the article is paywalled, and I've not checked it. Maybe someone can take a look and see if it has more to say on how he got his nickname. An explanation would be more interesting than the bare fact. 2A00:23C3:B700:701:F54C:4B1F:E59B:47D3 (talk) 18:26, 26 June 2019 (UTC)
