Hello! I've been digging into J.E. Mitchell and filling out his article a bit. There's a citation used in the Career section I am removing because I have found multiple sources that contradict it. But I wanted to leave it here in case anyone is able to verify it.
The cited text is: "In 1906, Mitchell formed an insurance company, the Western Union Relief Association." The citation is: The Black Press Archives: J.E. Mitchell. Call and Post: 3B. March 20, 1982.
I haven't been able to find a digitized copy of this article. (I assume this refers to the Call and Post out of Cleveland, Ohio, but I'm unsure.)
According to Green's paper "Just Enough of Everything" and Edwina Mitchell's biography of J.E., he acquired a job here, but did not found the company.
