@Krispykremer: Having solo activities doesn't automatically make anyone notable for an article; far more idols would have an article if that was the case. If an article is created, notability has to be proved in said article, not just "he released a mixtape in Februry 2018".Alexanderlee (talk) 18:46, 2 March 2018 (UTC)

Case for Notability

Too many people are editing this page. Some may even add unnecessary and wrong information. Also, Wikipedia pages of Namjoon,Taehyung and Suga are protected too. KM Diksha (talk) 18:27, 9 March 2018 (UTC)

@KM Diksha: There aren't too many people editing and nobody has added unnecessary or wrong information. RM's article is protected because of persistent vandalism, Suga's article is protected because of persistent disruptive editing and V's article is protected because of persistent vandalism. Other articles being protected is not a reason to protect this article because of something that may happen. Please see Wikipedia's protection policy. This article has no reason for protection. Predebut Activities

Going to put this here, since it keeps being added back. Should there be a mention of J-Hope featuring on Jo Kwon's "Animal" in the article? The video of the performance is the only proof that it happened on that one music show and gives no information about the song itself, thus making it an insufficient source. I could not find any reliable news sources covering it, in both Korean and English. I did an extensive Naver search and Google advanced search to make sure I wasn't missing anything since if one existed it'd be worthwhile information. I found a handful of unoffical reuploads of various Music Show performances and a dance practice, none of which are usable. I guess the cloest thing I could find was this track listing off of Naver that does mention J-Hope's feature in it, so I'm leaving it open as to whether or not that other people think it belongs there or not. Hug Me (with V)

The song is labeled as a cover but all of J-hope's lyrics are original (about 40% of the song). Only V's part is from the original song by Jeong Jun-il. I'm not sure if that matters but it seems to me like that would make it more like some of their other songs that use other beats and parts of the lyrics/chorus. I included it in the list because I thought the differences were significant enough to warrant inclusion especially when compared to the covers other members have done like "Fools" with JK and RM and Jin's "Autumn Outside the Post Office" which use only the original lyrics like a traditional cover. Other Charted songs and Outro: Ego

Where is Outro: Ego in the "other charted songs" section? I observed his solo song from WINGS (MAMA) and from Love Yourself (Trivia: Just Dance) were listed, but not Ego (from Map of the Soul: 7 (2020)).

"j-hope"

His name is definitely styled in a lowercase format. This is important because his official Big Hit profile uses lowercase, as well as plenty of album inserts, song credits and music videos. Consider the Daydream MV and the Airplane MV as examples. Katabatic03 ^talk 05:50, 5 September 2020 (UTC)

Continuing from this, yes, his name is stylised in lowercase. @SmallPotatoHeh333: discuss here. instead of reverting something that's been explained in multiple summaries. Striked out part of my original comment as I realised it was the same editor who defined the styling and then re-added it. But still, SmallPotatoHeh333, you are the one wanting to move styling so you are the one who should be seeking consensus once you were reverted. Philanthropy update

stylized name

Beginnings section

-> 'His dancing eventually led to an interest in singing, and he auditioned to become an idol trainee' this line paints a wrong picture. Jhope auditioned for BigHit at a time when they were looking for rappers for a rap group. So describing his start as 'became interested in singing' and 'auditioned as an idol' doesn't really capture his beginning under BTS. As soon as he joined he learned free styling and rapping from the underground rappers who solely made up the group at that time. The added source doesn't support this phrasing either. Another problem is the outdated and extremely negative 'Idol' article that is being linked too. Yes he was an idol trainee but the Idol article solely references SM practices from 10 years ago, BTS experience was vastly different from the described normal here so linking this without additional explanation seems overly prejudicial to me. If the Wikipedia definition of Idol is used then Jhope was in fact never an Idol.

The song “Trivia: Just Dance” is not part of the “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” album, it’s actually from the “Love Yourself: Answer” compilation album, released in 2018.
