GA Reassessment

[edit]

Another Final Fantasy article up for reassesment, this one has multiple problems to it. Main offenders include:

The article has a in-universe template to it.
The Reception and criticism section has an expand template to it.
I question if there should be that much pictures in the article since some fail criteria 6a, 6b, or both.
And some parts of the article aren't referenced.

All and all, I'll give this article a week or two so people can fix the problems. GamerPro64 (talk) 18:52, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed some images. --PresN 16:21, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I think I've gotten all of the in-universe stuff converted; removing the template. --PresN 17:08, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned at WT:SE there is no reference to Tactics Ogre or the Ogre Battle series in general in the creation and concept and I believe it is valid as the they had almost the same main production staff as welll as some reliable reviews noting that its a sequal. Without atleast some mention it fails GA criteria 3a and 4 (even if it is officially denied as a sequal, there are still RSes who believe it is semi-connected). Obviously in such a case, undue weight would apply.Jinnai 04:59, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'll look, but unless you can provide a source for that it's just speculation. I'm going through and adding sources for what's already in the article right now. --PresN 15:39, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Sourcing is coming along, though I'm having trouble finding stuff for Revanant Wings. Most of it can be cited to the game, but I'd need a game script. --PresN 16:45, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, even then unless the world itself is similar to Tactics Ogre it wouldn't merit more than a sentence or two- this is the article for the world, not for the Tactics series. --PresN 15:47, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
No, and there's where undue weight applies. It should be noted, mostly in creation and concept, but that's about it.Jinnai 19:55, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Here's one. The source is questionable and it was hotly debated at VG, but nothing has was decided upon, for or against. here is another one. It seems like at the very least the ogre battle series has a parrallel world of Ivalice.Jinnai 21:33, 18 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The RPGFan source doesn't say anything of the sort- it just says that the head designer made the ogre battle series, then he worked on FFT. Same with the source you crossed out. I need a source saying that the Ogre battle world is similar in makeup to Ivalice to include it. Otherwise it's just speculation. --PresN 01:06, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Not much else today. I haven't tried any of the Japanese sites yet. Best was this which says the gameplay aspects were more drawn from FF and other aspects were "liberally" drawn from others, most notably Tactics Ogre...too weak for this article as it doesn't describe what the reviewer meant by "liberally".Jinnai 05:39, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, refs everywhere. Please say if there's anything else that needs fixing! --PresN 14:56, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hmmm, this article looks way better than before. Taking out the un-needed pictures, no more tags on it, and lots of reference added. O.K, I'm gonna keep the article's GA status. GamerPro64 (talk) 17:52, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
