Not a visible minority

[edit]

The statement that Israeli Canadians are a visible minority is not correct, and I am changing the article accordingly.

Statistics Canada does clarify who is (and is not) included in the category "West Asians," as the term is defined by Statistics Canada. "West Asians", in turn, are one of the groups comprising visible minorities.

Statistics Canada states West Asians include "Persons who were born in Israel and whose religion was not Jewish [emphasis in original]." (Source: Collecting Census Data of Canada's Visible Minority Population" A Historical Perspective, by Karen Kelly, Statistics Canada, 1995, Table 9 on p. 21.)

I'd be the first to acknowledge that it's not logical, and it's not internally consistent. Canadian2006 (talk) 02:55, 3 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Bizarre deletion

[edit]

An editor made this - frankly - bizarre deletion. The addition that was deleted was clearly an appropriate addition. As a member of the group in question. Truly odd -- no appropriate reason for the deletion by this editor was given. Can an admin keep on eye on this? --2604:2000:E020:9500:DC0A:A2D8:EC90:E920 (talk) 03:13, 1 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
