Talk:Israel at the 2012 Summer Olympics
Europe
[edit]Why is Israel listed as "Europe" in the "Nations at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London" showbox? Israel is in Asia, in case you haven't figured it out. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.141.97.143 (talk) 23:43, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- The Olympic Committee of Israel plays under Europe, thier athletics play in European contests. The country is located in Asia, but the Israel as NOC nation plays under Europe. Same in FIBA (basketball), UEFA (football) and so on.

Equal position
[edit]Imri Ganiel placed an equal 32nd in the 100m men's breaststroke heats. I keep writing =32 in the box but various editors have removed it. Are joint positions not shown in Wikipedia articles or am I writing it in the wrong format? Airelivre (talk) 22:09, 29 July 2012 (UTC)
- I looked around wikipedia articles and some uses the = (equal) mark, Shatilov which finished 4th in the floor also don't have the equal mark even tho he finished with the same score as Jacob Dalton from USA. Same happend with the two second placed swimmers from China and South Korea in the 200m freestyle which both received silver. BUT, in Great Britan articles there is a equal mark to show the fact that Robbie Renwick had the same time as another swimmer. This issue should be brought to the main article talk page of the 2012 Olympics.
