Data 2003

This article is part of Wikipedia:Wikiproject Isotopes. Please keep style and phrasings consistent across the set of pages. For later reference and improved reliability, data from all considered multiple sources is collected here. References are denoted by these letters:

  • (A) G. Audi, O. Bersillon, J. Blachot, A.H. Wapstra. The Nubase2003 evaluation of nuclear and decay properties, Nuc. Phys. A 729, pp. 3-128 (2003). — Where this source indicates a speculative value, the # mark is also applied to values with weak assignment arguments from other sources, if grouped together. An asterisk after the A means that a comment of some importance may be available in the original.

  • (D) More specific level data from reference B's Levels and Gammas database.
  • (E) Same as B but excitation energy replaced with that from D.

comment

can ayone give an example of when these unstable isotopes exist? For instance, what circumstances create Au 191 which exists only for 3 hours? And is Au 191 solid and look just like gold 197 for those three hours, or does it only exist in solutions? Just something I'd like to know.

OE79Au199

The instability of OE79Au199 (Z79Gold) represents a break in an isotope stability line with formula (A=3Z -38) that runs from 64Thullium (EE64Tm154) through 78Platinum EE78Pt196 and is instead monostable at OE79Au197 with only 39 extra neutrons and a stability trend formula of A =3Z -40. This is a break in the A =3Z - 38 trend line which would have otherwise continued through 82Lead at EE82Pb208. And then on occasionally up to 94Pu Plutonium at EE94Pt244.

Missing stuff

What about 205mAu, 206Au, 207Au, 208Au, 209Au, and 210Au? They all have been synthesized, have they? Despite this, the gold nuclides are like the transactinides: they all have been synthesized, but due to their short half-lives, they don't actually exist. --3.14159265358pi (talk) 18:00, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Could someone that knows that the gold nuclides listed in this section exist post the nuclides' information on the table, in the form of six additional rows at the bottom of the list? --3.14159265358pi (talk) 18:03, 3 December 2011 (UTC)

Iridium not "heavier" ?

I thought Iridium (Ir, element number 77) was the element with highest density. And the 193-isotope is stabile, isn't it ? Stabile Iridium density 22.56 g/cm3. While density of stabile Gold just is 19.32 g/cm3. (Both at +20C). Am I wrong ? Boeing720 (talk) 19:45, 5 July 2012 (UTC)

"Heaviest" refers to the mass of single atoms, as is standard in such contexts. Double sharp (talk) 01:07, 7 January 2019 (UTC)
