Merge

[edit]

Support - I think that Islamic flags should be merged into Symbols of Islam. 77.98.117.4 (talk) 10:00, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose - You have not stated a reason to do so, and these 2 articles are about different topics which only share a general similarity. Symbols of Islam can be things other than flags and Islamic flags don't necessarily contain symbols of Islam. --Hamster X 15:23, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Source

[edit]

Where's the source behind the history of the early monotone flags? Faro0485 (talk) 07:26, 19 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The muslims do believein symbols and geometric shapes.

Geometric "symbols"

[edit]

Just because iconography (I use the term loosely) employs pure geometric forms doesn't necessarily mean it's not a "symbol." In particular, Bangladesh's inclusion in the flags without symbols section may be questionable --152.3.129.137 (talk) 16:45, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This page is full of original research and the supposed 'editors' are want to challenge it due to it being something about Islam. Wikipedia, where we edit the world except in the case of Islam. Then we don't because we're all based out of Holland and we learned from the whole cartoon thing. Yes, I'm sure this'll be deleted because the 'leet' of Wikipedia can't stand criticism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.95.28.89 (talk) 19:01, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Drudge effect

[edit]

If anyone down the road looks at the page view statistics and is puzzled by why the page usually averages around 100 views a day, but was viewed about 80,000 times today, you can thank Matt Drudge. --207.206.137.50 (talk) 05:13, 25 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Jihadist flags"

[edit]

Why is this so called flag listed in as an Islamic flag? You might as well add the flag of the Ku Klux Klan to the Christian flags as well if you're gong to do this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.230.184.59 (talk) 23:13, 20 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Six years later and it is still listed as a Muslim flag with an unlinked separate page called “jihadist flag”. It’s the same flag on both pages. It is suspiciously devoid of any attempt at disambiguation. Would be nice to learn more about why this apparent discrepancy exists. 2605:A601:AC9B:4B00:896F:884D:EA7:E775 (talk) 09:48, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
