Fictional character or pseudonym
[edit]I know absolutely nothing of this subject, but according to the article Richard Levins, Nabi is a pseudonym with a fictional biography. Whether 'he' warrants his own encylopedia article, I do not know. —Veyklevar 08:53, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- Definitely warrants an article, whether it warrants a fictional biography in the article is more questionable. --24.147.86.187 13:33, 16 May 2007 (UTC)
I. I. Rabi?
[edit]Was the pseudonym of Isador Nabi taken in homage to the Nobel Prize winner Isidor Isaac Rabi? -- 192.250.34.162 16:04, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
- Another possibility is that it is based on the Arabic word for "prophet", which is nabi and/or the related Hebrew navi. Of course it might be based on both "prophet" and "Rabi".Bill (talk) 03:35, 1 December 2021 (UTC)
Other achievements
[edit]It is sad that the article does not mention two other of Nabi's achievements (at least according to the American Men of Science biographical listing). According to it, his scientific field was "paleocytopathology", and he once worked as the coroner of King's County, New York (i.e. Brooklyn). Felsenst 00:27, 24 May 2007 (UTC)
