Isa Khan (b. 1529–1599) was the chief of the Bara-Bhuiyans.[1]
Early life
[edit]His father was Sulaiman Khan.[1] Isa Khan ascended to power during the time of Taj Khan Karrani, the Karrani Afghan ruler.
Mughal resistance
[edit]Isa Khan consistently resisted Mughal attacks during the time of Akbar. It was only after his death in 1599, when Mughal captured Bengal and shifted the capital from Sonargaon to Jahangirnagar (later named Dhaka).
