Merger proposal

At Talk:Hunter_Moore#Semi-protected_edit_request_on_25_January_2014, 75.70.221.14 wrote "Request that the page be merged with Is Anyone Up?, the only thing that the person mentioned in this article is notable for", and I agree. There's literally zero content at Hunter Moore that would be out-of-place here, and the bulk of that article is actually a description of this website for context. 75.70.221.14 is the IP of Chance Trahan of IsAnybodyDown?. Read this. Previously blocked for legal threats among other things. Seems like an unpleasant fellow all around. Someone should probably just hard block that IP. 209.97.203.60 (talk) 05:53, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
Ugh, yes, I see what you mean. Hopefully the merge proposal can nevertheless be judged on its merits. Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 06:27, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
IMO, this decision should be postponed until the Hunter trial, which is said to be started in March 2014, is closed.[1] --Túrelio (talk) 09:53, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
I had actually proposed the move about 10 days before that IP did. I put it on the other talk page but never followed through. My proposal was before any of this recent FBI stuff surfaced. Moore isn't notable for anything besides the site. Even if you wait til trial, that trial is still in regards to this site. And for the record, I have nothing to do with any of this, especially the IP previously mentioned. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.205.68.24 (talk) 23:17, 26 January 2014 (UTC)
Why not merge now? The information on Is Anyone Up? under "FBI Investigation" is practically the same as what's under "Indictment" for Moore. What's lost by merging now rather than waiting until after the trial? SMARTALIENQT (talk) 01:43, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
No Merge because the founder and the website are now seprate because the website was sold to an anti-bullying group per an article in the American Bar Association, which is the US layer group. Geraldshields11 (talk) 13:42, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
But all the information about it, except for one mention, is in regards to the website as it was under Moore. There is significant overlap between the two and the information from the Is Anyone Up? page is important for context on the Moore page. SMARTALIENQT (talk) 18:59, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
I still say Merge because it doesn't matter if he is no longer running the site. It comes down to: He is not known for anything outside of the site. There is nothing exclusive to either article. I'm not even sure why we are having this discussion.. 166.205.68.32 (talk) 11:53, 31 January 2014 (UTC)

He is a DJ (His album is out for sale and can be found on Pandora) and an internet personality most recently known for getting his fans to degrade themselves and do obscene acts for him over the social media website "twitter". i.e. the girl that was on the news for eating her own excrement. He has over half a million followers on Twitter. He also leaked nude pictures of Amanda Bynes giving him a blowjob, so there was a possibility of a relationship there between the two. His fans are also known as "The Family" and he is affiliated with a clothing company called "scumbags clothing co." I think there is enough commotion going on around him to merit his own page and still keep his website page up. Not to mention, when people look up "Revenge porn King" or "most hated man on the internet" (he was also featured on rolling stones) they probably want to see the person more then the website that he got famous off of. There is actually very little information about him posted on his page and maybe you will all reconsider merging it if all the research was done and the page was better refined. 178.76.153.110 (talk) 18:18, 4 March 2014 (UTC)

Why was it called "Is Anyone Up"?

What does that mean? 86.156.5.237 (talk) 23:38, 25 April 2019 (UTC)

James McGibney bought isanyoneup to shut it down

It should be clarified that James McGibney bought the website for $12,000 not to profit from it, but to effectively shut it down and take it offline. The way this article is written it doesn't make it clear. 76.30.133.9 (talk) 02:38, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
