Self-Designation is -Ir- not -Iron-

[edit]

Self-Designation is Ir. Iron is called their dialect. (See os.wikipedia.org). Please change the name of the article. Thanks. --Greczia (talk) 18:27, 18 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ossetian Wikipedia is not RS.
-on in Ossetic is the same with -ian in English. Ir means Land of Irons and something that hardly can be translated into English. You can't say one Ir, two Irs, I am Ir, Ir people and Ir girl. Ir can't be used as adjective. So Ir people is not correct.--Bouron (talk) 13:25, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure about that? It seems to be a complicated topic. I've searched on google.books (eng. 1, ger. 2). I found many different designations: 1, 2, 3, 4. It seems to be a form of the Avestian "airya" or "arya", isn't it? --Greczia (talk) 18:38, 20 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
