Fair use rationale for Image:MorrisseyIBEH.jpg

[edit]

Image:MorrisseyIBEH.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:45, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cromwell

[edit]

Sorry to be thick, but what is the royal line that still salutes Oliver Cromwell? Millbanks 22:12, 12 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The British one maybe? and they're mostly germans and scots so.. anything but the English basically. 167.1.176.4 (talk) 10:19, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Why would they salute Oliver Cromwell, a Regicide who turned England into a republic? Is it supposed to mean something, or is Morrissey just an ignorant fool who doesn't know what or who he's talking about? Fricasso (talk) 20:21, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning?

[edit]

So what is the song about? There seems to be an underlying message. Axl (talk) 09:51, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's about a mishmash of related topics, being proud to be English but acknowledging your Irish roots, the English are constantly made to feel that they cannot be proud of their nationality because they beat some guys in Wars hundereds of years ago and it's made out to be atrocities. 167.1.176.4 (talk) 10:25, 3 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

U.S. 7"

[edit]

Just FYI, I recall that the 7" vinyl single released in the U.S. had two tracks on each side, probably the same tracks found on the CD single. --71.183.137.40 (talk) 00:22, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"Not Bitter, But Bored" by Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams

[edit]

Is there a reason why the reference to this song has been dropped from the article ?

The note was added here in 2011 by an unknown user and then removed in here in 2021 by @Erpert due to a WEASEL attribution.

Full Quote: The song had been performed live numerous times prior to release, but Morrissey was without a record deal for some time. It was Morrissey's first single in seven years, and considered a major comeback. The music was written by Alain Whyte and had already been used on a song called "Not Bitter but Bored" for a band he was a part of called Johnny Panic and the Bible of Dreams. Morrissey wrote a whole new set of words for this tune, as well as changing the melody. He also did this with another Johnny Panic tune, "Paranoia", which was rewritten as "Don't Make Fun of Daddy's Voice".

The song Not Bitter but Bored can be easily found here on Youtube and the resemblance is uncanny. Surely there should be a note referencing this? Tetris11 (talk) 00:56, 9 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
