Medal, or not?

[edit]

An anonymous user changed Ireland's medal tally from 0/0/0 to 0/1/0 in the infobox by referring to Yeats' silver medal at the artistic competition. I was under the impression those medals are no longer counted as part of the Olympic tallies? Aridd (talk) 19:38, 11 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've also changed the table to 0.1.1 in reference to a bronze medal for literature as well as the silver discussed above. Actual Olympic medals were awarded to these two Irishmen so it should be at least recorded on this page about Ireland in 1924 Olympics. (Even though it is not recorded in IOC tallies and tables elsewhere). It's an interesting one! 🤔 185.94.200.162 (talk) 21:03, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Seems quaint (and a little strange) that such a competition was included along with athletics sporting events However,an
Olympic medal is an Olympic medal. The achievement of Irish people being awarded such a medal (representing the newly formed Ireland for the first time) should be recorded here on this wiki page that is titled "Ireland at the 1924 Olympics
