Whiteley's consonants are weird
[edit]... as described here, by comparison to Mous's, at least. The gravest thing is that the lateral affricate tl which Mous has is missing! On the grounds of the WOLD wordlist we link, there clearly is a tl in Iraqw. Is this a mistake by the transcriber, or is the lack in the original?
As smaller points, Whiteley doesn't note glottalisation, which Mous puts on ts tl q /; and of the palatal series which Mous gives as j ch sh ny and essentially confined to borrowings, Whiteley has the ch sh but not the others. (There's also the labialization thing but I bet that's a difference of analysis.)
