Orphaned references in Green Movement

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Green Movement's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference tag

[edit]

I believe that the tag placed at the top of the page calling for additional citations for verification is now unnecessary, as the variety of sources cited in the current revision of this article are perfectly adequate.

If any editor disagrees with my removing the tag from the top of the page, please let me know. If I receive no response within the next few days, I will remove the tag. Junkie007 (talk) 20:35, 14 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What POV?

[edit]

This page has been tagged POV for seven months, yet I see nothing on this discussion page that argues for or against it. Would someone please explain the reason for the tag? If I see nothing soon, I will remove it myself. Sopholatre (talk) 15:43, 10 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal

[edit]

I propose the creation of a much broader article titled Iranian opposition. It could be modeled after the Bahraini opposition, Russian opposition, and Syrian opposition articles. Charles Essie (talk) 15:41, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Resolved This issue has been resolved, and I have therefore removed the tag, if not already done. No further action is necessary.—cyberbot II NotifyOnline 17:31, 2 July 2014 (UTC)== Decline of the Green Movement ==[reply]

The Green Movement had declined within a few months of its inception. The rallies announced by the government on the 12th Moharram commemorations of the year 2009-10, saw more than 2 million Iranians supporting the government. These rallies were a primary reason why the Green movement died. If someone can add this highly relevant piece of information.

Evolution vs. Revolution

[edit]

The source for the section which claims that the movement was essentially about evolution and not revolution is precisely ONE woman. No statements, no statistics, no nothing, just one single view of one woman. If you followed the protests closely, you would get the impression that it is absolutely unclear who wanted what, as the protestors never really (directly) addressed this issue. This is a very ambiguous topic which is still debated among Iranian exile media and opposition groups and even former protestors. With a little research, you can easily find evidence suggesting the opposite, depending on where you look. Thus, I would recommend to remove this section entirely - as it seems to be very biased anyway (it is somehow out of place, like someone wanted to make sure this particular conclusion gets out). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.226.226.15 (talk) 05:36, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Addendum: I shall add: the person in question is Haleh Esfandiari, who was a feloow of the National Endowment for Democracy, an organisation that actively supports the reformist camp in Iran via proxies (e.g. NIAC) and seeks no revolution in the country. Therefore, Esfandiari cannot be considered a neutral, impartial source. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.226.226.15 (talk) 07:07, 28 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Does this article need updating? Parts of it seem like they are writing from a perspective as if Ahmadinejad is still in power. Llangrannog (talk) 20:38, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
